Design element properties are global settings applicable to nearly every part of a Notes application. Many of these settings perform important functions, particularly those related to design inheritance and refreshing; these settings often have a great impact on application design updates.

If you need to modify a design property (e.g. the ‘prohibit refresh’ property), you’ll frequently need to do it in many places—perhaps hundreds.
The native Domino Designer toolset does not provide the means for editing these properties en masse.
