When two users open the same document in a Notes database, and save their changes at different times, Notes will sometimes have difficulty merging the changes. This can result in Save Conflicts. A similar situation can also occur in a replication scenario. In either case, Notes will create Replication or Save Conflict documents and they will display in the views along with your original documents. Now comes the really hard part: Trying to resolve the conflict.
Notes only allows you to open up an original document and its Conflict document. As a result, the only method you have for identifying the differences in the two documents is to switch back and forth between them. As you can imagine, this is a very time consuming task--especially if each document had a large number of fields that could have differences in data.
As you may already know, Teamstudio Delta gives you the ability to compare data between two databases. But did you know that in the "Actions" menu of your Teamstudio client, there is a menu item entitled "Delta of 2 Documents"? By check-marking the original document and its coinciding "Save or Replication" document, you can use the Delta of 2 Documents function to get a side-by-side comparison of the two documents. This allows you to quickly identify all differences quickly and easily and resolve them.
