Copying a Shared Action Across All Forms
Let's say you want to copy a shared action across all of the forms in your database, for example a Close button. With Teamstudio Design Manager, the process is easy. Open the database you want to use as your library, and find the action you want to propagate.
Then simply open the database you want to copy to, and select the forms you want to add the shared action to. Click on the blue arrow button on the top of the Design Manager pane to copy the action to the desired forms.
Once they are copied, right click on the copied actions, and select "Make action(s) shared", thereby inheriting from your library action.
With this final step, any further changes to your parent shared action will automatically be reflected in the children shared actions!
Caution: Be careful not to delete your parent shared action. This will break all your child actions that point to the deleted action, shown in Design Manager with a strikethrough.
Using this handy feature in Design Manager can save a lot of wasted time and effort!
