New Version of Teamstudio Export Released!

This update of Teamstudio Export 4.5.1 brings a suite of enhancements and fixes, derived from feedback from our dedicated user base and our own deep experience in Lotus Notes database archiving:

Enhanced Formula and OLE Support: We've broadened our formula capabilities, including refined handling of the @Text function with '*' formats, and expanded support for OLE objects such as Excel 5, OLE1, and "ExcelWorksheet" types. These improvements ensure a more robust and seamless export process, accommodating a wider range of data types and structures.

Advanced Section Handling: The management of `onread="collapse"` sections has been significantly improved, preserving the original structure and format of documents upon export, thereby maintaining the integrity of the exported data. You may also choose to have all sections expand regardless of their setting.

Improved Image and Resource Management: We've introduced support for imagemaps and image resource icons in embedded views, and addressed issues with embedded attachments in PDF exports. These updates guarantee that the visual aspects of documents are faithfully reproduced in exports.

Export Mode Flexibility: The new ability to export in either read or print mode empowers users with enhanced control over the presentation of exported data, tailoring exports to specific requirements.

Display Mode is selectable from the Export global configuration settings or the right-click configure HTML/PDF action menu.

For users upgrading, rest assured that your XML archives need no modifications. Simply perform a new export to HTML or PDF to access all the enhancements in 4.5.1.

Reporting Issues and Enhancements

Exploring the world of Notes applications often feels like a journey through history, given their enduring presence and intricate nature. In the past, when facing issues with Export, we typically requested a variety of items such as design components, logs, and DXL files to diagnose problems. To streamline this, we introduced a feature that automatically generates a 'Support File' during errors in archive generation, a process and feature we've highlighted in previous posts.

Beyond error reporting, this feature serves another purpose: addressing unexpected results in HTML & PDF exports, which, while not necessarily errors, may need refinement due to the age and complex nature of many Notes applications.

Should you encounter such irregularities, you can create a Support File by identifying the note id associated with the inconsistency. In the Export UI, after selecting the database, use the 'Create Support File' option in the shortcut menu and input the note id when prompted. This action generates a support file encompassing the specific note’s details and its dependencies.

Generate support files for any note id where you experience an inconsistency that requires investigation.

For further analysis and potential improvements, submit this support file via a support ticket. This process not only helps in resolving errors but also in enhancing the quality and accuracy of your export outputs, ensuring they meet your expectations and requirements.
